Jess, sometimes John – she/they

Hey, thanks for stopping by! I’m a genderqueer artist living in Toronto, Canada. I’ve been working in the Toronto film industry since 2017 as a graphic designer, concept artist and illustrator. I’ve worked on productions for HBO, Showtime, Netflix, Warner Brothers, Disney, CBS, CBC, and others.

My background is in the indie world of illustration and comics; I’ve published a number of zines and collections of art since the early 2010s, and have exhibited at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival twice. Throughout my career I’ve picked up as many niche skills as I can, starting with historical costuming during my undergrad and moving into things like print making, mold making, laser cutting, and CNC. I am a firm believer in interdisciplinary approaches and find my work continues to improve the more I incorporate into my practices.

I’ve been running a small business for over a decade, which primarily focused on prints and zines up until 2024 when I began to expand into home goods, accessories, and clothing. I’m currently in the process of updating this website and a new storefront to include this new aspect of my work!

I’ve worked with some lovely arts organizations, institutions, and non-profits over the years! Like:

The Houston Ballet in their Wardrobe Department (very rad, my first Real Job)
Open Studio as an office assistant (I love them, please go take classes!!)
Toronto Tool Library and Maker Space as their Sewing Instructor (I love these guys too!! Also take their classes!!)
Seneca Polytechnic on their Program Advisory Committee for the Illustration program, formerly as the Chair and currently as a member (It’s a great program! I should know, I took it and have had a hand in its changes for ten years!)

I’ve sold my work at a bunch of really cool markets and shows too!
